Bydd y dathliadau’n dechrau wrth barc y Clifftops tua 1.00pm, a byddwn yn cychwyn drwy rolio pen y cawr Bendigeidfran i lawr y rhiw tua’r traeth, gan gyrraedd Pafiliwn Pier Penarth tua 2.30 pm.
The celebrations start at Penarth Clifftops around 1.00pm and begin by rolling the head of the giant Bendigeidfran down the hill to the beach, arriving at Penarth Pier Pavilion around 2.30pm.
Mae hanesion y Mabinogi yn sôn am y cawr Bendigeidfran – neu Brân Fendigaid – a orchmynnodd i’w ben gael ei gludo ar ôl ei farwolaeth a’i gladdu yn y Gwynfryn yn Llundain. Byddwn yn nodi arwyddocâd Bendigeidfran drwy rolio ei ben i lawr y rhiw tua Llundain.
The Mabinogion stories tell of the Welsh giant Bendigeidfran, ‘the Blessed Brân’, who’s head was taken after his death and buried in London. Bendigeidfran’s brilliance is marked by lovingly rolling his head down hill towards London.
